Betty J. White, 81, of Canton died at 5:06 p.m. Sept. 6, 2018, at Clayberg Fulton County Nursing Center in Cuba.
She was born July 25, 1937, in Vermont, a daughter of Cecil and Della Emig Wright Sr. She married Larry “Red” White in 1956 in Lewistown. He preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 2014.
She also was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Wright.
Surviving are one son, Kevin (and Val) White of Cuba; one daughter, Della (and John) Anderson of Astoria; two sisters, Bessie Ellen Bricker of Astoria and Doris Lafary of Smithfield; one brother, Bobby Wright of Southern Illinois; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church.
Graveside service was held Sunday in the Vermont Cemetery with Pastor Glen Edenburn officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
