Melvin GoldsboroughMelvin Lowell Goldsborough, 96, of Rushville died at 12:45 p.m. March 27, 2014, at Snyder’s Vaughn Haven Nursing Home.

He was born July 14, 1917, in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, a son of Curtis and Anna Dean Goldsborough. He married Edith Crum on Dec. 6, 1941, in Hannibal, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Sharon Peacock of Rushville; one son, Don (and Sharon) Goldsborough of Rushville; one sister, June Huston; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Lou Goldsborough; two sisters, Marie Washam and Violet Phillips; and four brothers, Harold, Kenneth, Morris and Junior Goldsborough.

He was a life-long Schuyler County farmer.

He was a member of Rushville Free Methodist Church, American Angus Association and National Rifle Association.

Services were held Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Jeremy Norton officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery.
