Charles E. Walton, 66, died at the Racine Community Care Center on Saturday, Aug. 3, 1996, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Adair on Nov. 7, 1929, a son of Charles and Edith Snowden Walton. Mr. Walton had been a Racine resident since 1951. He lived most of his childhood days in Vermont. He served our country for four years with the U.S. Army, two of the years in the Korean War as corporal. In Racine, on June 14, 1952, he was united in marriage with Donna M. Goebel. He had been employed by J. I. Case Co. for over 33 years, retiring in 1989.

Surviving are his wife of over 44 years, Donna; five children, Pamela Ludwigson (Walton), Nancy (Jim) Tyler (Walton), Charles E. (Terri) Walton Jr., Thomas E. Walton and David E. (Michelle) Walton; 10 grandchildren; five sisters, Irene Groff, Elenor Williams, Joan Ward, Lola Walton and Barbara Walton; two brothers, Clifford Walton and Larry Walton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Richard Walton.

Funeral services, with military honors, were conducted on Aug. 7 in West Lawn Memorial Park. Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
