Iva Irene Groff, 73, of Vermont died at 5:06 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2002, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born May 3, 1928, in Fulton County, a daughter of Everett and Edith Snowden Walton. She married Melvin Groff on Sept. 26, 1950, in Carthage. He died Feb. 21, 1992.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Richard and Gene.
She is survived by two sons, Roy Groff of Vermont and Jim Cox; two daughters, Kathy Groff and Connie Groff, both of Vermont; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Clifford Walton of Astoria and Larry Walton; and four sisters, Eleanor Gilbert and Joan Ward, both of Macomb, Lola Trone of Canton, and Barbara Davis of Arkansas.
She was a member of the Vermont American Legion Auxiliary.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Vermont Cemetery with Rev. Tim Gilliland officiating. Visitation is Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association.
