Jesse L. Wherley, 92, of Astoria died at 10:50 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 1980, in the Astoria Care Center.
Mr. Wherley was a retired farmer and a member of the Astoria Church of the Brethren.
He was born Aug. 23, 1888, in Astoria, a son of George and Ellen (King) Wherley. He married Irma Gruber on April 16, 1916.
Surviving are his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Carroll (Norma Lee) Warner of Astoria.
He was preceded in death by one son, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Shawgo Memorial Home, with David A. Naff officiating. Burial was in the South Fulton Cemetery.
