Floyd E. Walters Dies In Canton

Floyd E. Walters, 77, of 414 North First Ave., Canton, Nov. 4, 1975, was dead on arrival, at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, at Graham Hospital.

Born May 29, 1898, in Fulton County, a son of Charles and Mary Elizabeth Phillips Walters, he married Carrie Johnson on Sept. 4, 1918, in Astoria. She died Aug. 21, 1965.

Surviving are a son, Roy Walters of Canton; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Darla) Danner of Springfield and Mrs. Erman (Betty) Shawgo of Burlington, Iowa; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Warner of Summum.

A daughter, four brothers and a sister died earlier.

Mr. Walters was a member of the Church of the Brethren.

The Walters family formerly resided in Astoria.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Canton Church of the Brethren with Rev. Milton Early officiating. Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery near Astoria.
