VeteranPaul Vaughn

Paul E. Vaughn, 80, of Canton died at 12:40 a.m. Oct. 25, 2008, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born March 1, 1928, in Astoria, the son of Theodore and Amelia Rose Vaughn. He married Anne L. Saurbaugh on April 9, 1950, in Vermont. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Dr. Bradley (and Janice) Vaughn of Raleigh, N.C.; two daughters, Lynn Vaughn of Joliet and Elizabeth (and Arkie) Usinger of Canton; two sisters, Lois (and Earl) Vaughn and Sarah (and Joseph) Rosich of Canton; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Goddard and Evelyn Behm.

He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, American Legion and the Canton Country Club.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He retired from Amertech in 1985, independent consultant for AT&T/Lucent.

Services were held Oct. 28 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with Pastor Bob Rueter officiating. A visitation was held Oct. 27 at the funeral home. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
