Dean Thompson

Dean R. Thompson, 84, of Dunlap died Dec. 11, 2022, at Unity Point Health Proctor in Peoria.

He was born Nov. 27, 1938, in Astoria, a son of Glen and Velma Gould Thompson. He married Norma Lockard on April 15, 1962, in Summum. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Martin (and Susan) Thompson of Lake In The Hills; one sister, Judy Malott of Table Grove; and two grandchildren, Sophia and Noah Thompson.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Max Thompson.

He was a construction engineer with CILCO for more than 35 years, retiring as general manager of gas construction.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving until 1967 and a member of the American Legion Post #1078 in Dunlap.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Committal services were held Saturday at Hickory Cemetery in Havana.
