Joseph Tadejevic

Joseph M. Tadejevic, 90, of St. Joseph’s Home, formerly of West Peoria, died at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born May 30, 1906, in St. David, a son of Frank and Helen Tomlianovich Tadejevic. He married Mary A. Putrich on May 29, 1937, in St. David. She died Dec. 6, 1991, in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by one sister.

Surviving are two brothers, Frank Tadejevic of Cleveland and John “Sandy” Tadejevic of Springfield; three sisters, Catherine Sepich and Margaret Behnke, both of Canton, and Helen Fray of Astoria; and several nieces and nephews.

He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 1970. He was a member of Knights of Columbus 427 Third Degree Spalding Council and Alhambra. He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church in Peoria.

Funeral services were held at his church at 11 a.m. Friday with Monsignor Steven P. Rohlfs officiating. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Canton. Wright and Salmon Mortuary in Peoria was in charge of arrangements.
