She was born June 12, 1936, in Beardstown, a daughter of Cecil and Edna Lucas Norton. She married Richard D. Stambaugh on July 11, 1954, in Beardstown. He preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 2017.
She also was preceded in death by two grandsons, Emanuel and Samuel Waugh; three brothers, Eldon and Charlotte Norton, Edward and Betty Norton and Gene Norton; one sister, Alberta and John Groves; and one son-in-law, Jim McCombs.
Surviving are five daughters, Mary (and Johnny) Groves and Peggy McCombs, both of Astoria, Rhonda (and John) Hunter of Browning, Denise (and Chad Mertens) Stambaugh of Macomb and Angela (and Harry) Waugh of Monmouth; five sons, Ricky (and Michelle) Stambaugh of Astoria, Ronald Stambaugh and David (and Carolyn) Stambaugh, both of Beardstown, James Stambaugh of Vienna and Daniel (and Tracy) Stambaugh of Augusta; 24 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was a farmer’s wife.
She attended Grace Bible Church in Astoria and her Diabetic Support Group.
Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Matt Haberman officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Astoria.
