Willard Tracy Settles, 87, of Rushville died at 6:20 a.m. June 2, 2020, at Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Sept. 27, 1932, in Beardstown, a son of Paul H. and Hazel Mae Carls Settles. He married Anita Belew on Aug. 17, 1952, in Beardstown. She preceded him in death on May 17, 2014.

He also was preceded in death by one son, Michael Settles; one sister, Patricia Farrar; and one brother, Robert Settles.

Surviving are five sons, Neil (and Colleen) Settles of Jacksonville, Barry (and Sue) Settles of Rushville, Aaron (and Kay) Settles of Jeffersonville, Ind., Christopher (and Sheryl) Settles of Scottsboro, Ala., and James (and Rosalie) Settles of Pace, Fla.; one brother, Carl Settles of Rushville; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He graduated from Rushville High School with the class of 1950. He attended Western Illinois University and served in the United States Army. He owned Settles Furniture and Appliance from 1960-70. During that time he also drove a school bus for Schuyler Unit #1 Schools. He was a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier from 1966-77.

A family service will be held at a later date. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
