She was born July 5, 1911, in Beardstown, a daughter of Robert G. and Mary Louise Allen Carls. She married Paul H. Settles on Aug. 16, 1930, in Rushville. He died June 26, 1995.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Farrar; a grandson; two sisters; and one brother.
Surviving are three sons, Tracy (and Anita) of Scottsboro, Ala., Robert and Carl (and Peggy), both of Rushville; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Rushville.
She worked at the Maid-Rite Shop, Vedder Drug Store and Settles Hardware, all in Rushville. She also braided rugs and sold antiques.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. E. Ambrose Stump officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
