Benjamin ScrogumBenjamin P. Scrogum, 78, of Lewistown died at 12:50 a.m. April 6, 2014, at Farmington Country Manor.

He was born Sept. 26, 1935, in Summum, the son of Paul and Ruby Davis Scrogum. He married Martha E. Dietz on Sept. 17, 1966, in Summum. She preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 2000.

Surviving are three sons, Phillip (and Michelle) Scrogum of Kingdom City, Mo., and Jonathan Scrogum and Peter Scrogum, both of Lewistown; one daughter, Elizabeth (and Steve) Johnson of Farmington; one brother, James (and Sandy) Scrogum of the state of Virginia; two sisters, Carol Ann Shaw of Summum and Phyllis Wolfe of Canton; and six grandchildren.

He worked in management at International Harvester in Canton until the plants closing. He later worked at Lewistown Grade School for over 20 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-60.

He was a member of Summum Christian Church.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at his church with Reverend Chris Deacon officiating. Burial will be in Summum Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown.
