Bennie Sackman

Bennie Sackman, 83, of Browning died Tuesday, March 6, at 4:50 a.m. at his home.

He was born June 30, 1917, in Bluff City, a son of Benjamin Harrison and Mary Dixon Sackman. He married Maxine Dick on Sept. 6, 1962, in Summum. She survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Norma (and Ernest) Parker of Browning, Donna (and Clinton) Morrill of Havana, Patricia (and Henry) Tharp of Danville and Betty Key of East Moline; one son, Fred Dick of Astoria; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard (and Betty) Sackman of Peoria and Raymond Sackman of Havana; and one sister, Verna Maxwell of Rushville.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

He was a farmer for 40 years.

He was a member of Bluff City Community Church.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, with visitation one hour before. Burial will be in Apple Cemetery in Lewistown.

Memorials may be made to Maxine Sackman in care of the Havana National Bank.
