Lillian D. Snowden, 96, of Vermont died at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2000, at her residence.
She was born May 27, 1903, in rural Schuyler County, the daughter of Otto and Notie Angell. She married Robert L. Snowden on Feb. 16, 1925. He died June 8, 1995.
One son, Lyle, and one grandson also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Anne Bartlett of Quincy; seven sons, Paul and Nelson, both of Vermont, Howard of Quincy, Donald of rural Macomb, Robert of West Chicago, Richard of Jacksonville and Phillip of St. Paul, Minn.; one brother, Paul Angell of Dearborn, Mich.; 30 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
She received her teaching certificate at Western Illinois Teachers College in Macomb and first taught at Sixteen School in Eldorado Township.
Services were held Friday at West Prairie Presbyterian Church in Eldorado Township near Industry with Chaplain Ron Green officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
