Mark Stambaugh

Mark Stambaugh, 82, of Shelbina, Mo., died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, at 9:15 p.m. at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

He was born Sept. 21, 1916, in Ipava, a son of George H. and Fannie Bucher Stambaugh. He married Dorothea Boehl Millard on Dec. 25, 1959, in Summum. She died Feb. 6, 1996. Also preceding him in death were one son, Charles Stambaugh, one granddaughter, Cindy Maybee, five sisters and one brother.

Surviving are one son, Raymond Stambaugh of Ipava; one daughter, Janice Roberts of Plymouth; one daughter-in-law, Colleen Stambaugh of Canton; one stepson, Gene Millard of Monroe City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Georgia Lee Page of Springfield, Faith Blair of London, Ohio, and Mabel Bowman of Canton.

He was a member of Woodland Church of the Brethren in Astoria and attended the Shelbina Baptist Church. He graduated from Astoria High School. He and his wife moved to a farm east of Shelbyville in 1963 from Summum and then moved to Shelbina upon his retirement in 1980.

Services were held Tuesday at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Chapel in Shelbina with Rev. Bob Compere officiating. Burial was in Shelbina Cemetery, Sunset Slope Addition.

Memorials may be made to the Shiloh Christian Childrens Ranch.
