Dorothy E. Sears, 89, of Vermont, died at 12:09 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 29, 1996, at the Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
She was born on Dec. 3, 1906, in McDonough County, a daughter of Jerry and Lena Mae (Lamprell) Sears.
She is survived by one niece, Mrs. Margaret Swearingen of Industry, one nephew, Gerald Sears of Adair, and one cousin, Mrs. Helen McCurdy of Vermont.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Sears, and one sister, Blanche Sears.
Miss Sears was a homemaker and a member of the Royal Neighbors. She also was a member of the Vermont United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Vermont United Methodist Church with Rev. Jill Johnson-Scott officiating. Burial was in Harris Cemetery in Table Grove.
Memorials may be made to the Vermont United Methodist Church or the Vermont Public Library.
Kost Memorial Home in Vermont was in charge of arrangements.
