Dave Otis Snowden, 74, Atlanta, Ga., formerly of Vermont, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 1995, at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Memorials services will be announced at a later date.

Kost Memorial Home of Vermont is in charge of arrangements.

Dave Otis Snowden, 74, of Marietta, Ga., formerly of Vermont, died at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 1995, at North Side Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.

He was born Feb. 9, 1921, in McDonough County, a son of Otis Gordon and Nellie Rachel Miller Snowden. He married Delores Patricia Carpenter on April 14, 1951 in Mobile, Ala. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother of Vermont; two daughters, Patricia Gale of Albany, Ga. and Melisa Ann Snowden of Marietta, Ga.; and three brothers, Eldon Snowden of Macomb, N. Devere Snowden of Table Grove, and Larry Snowden of Farmington.

One daughter, Michelle Snowden and five brothers preceded him in death.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Force in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He retired as a major after 20 years of service. He was employed by the FAA, retiring after 26 years as Chief Air Carrier Inspector for Southeast United States. He was a member of Vermont Lodge #116 AF&AM and the Vermont Legion Post #26. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Marietta, Ga.

A memorial service was held Sunday at Dobbins Air Force Base, Marietta, Ga. and burial was in the National Cemetery in Marietta.

Kost Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements.
