FLOYD G. “ZEKE” STAMBAUGH

Floyd Stambaugh

Floyd G. “Zeke” Stambaugh, 81, of Rushville, formerly of Browning, died at 9:10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 1995 at his home.

He was born March 23, 1914, in Fulton County, a son of Harry B. and Edith (Grove) Stambaugh. He married Leona Himmel on Oct. 18, 1937, in Rolla, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Ted Stambaugh of Rushville; three grandchildren, Vicki Trone, and Kelly and Kraig Stambaugh; five great-grandchildren, Amy and Travis Anderson, Zeke, Julie, and Clay Stambaugh; one brother, John Stambaugh of Browning; two sisters, Mrs. Phillip (Lenora) Dixon of Browning and Mrs. Carmen (Arlene) Burgard of Jacksonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Stambaugh.

He worked as a commercial fisherman and duck hunter for 35 years and later at Schuyler-Brown Farmers Service as a petroleum salesman for 25 years retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Central Christian Church in Browning, served eight years on the Schuyler County Board. He was a member of the Vermont Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. #116, Illinois Valley Shrine, Ansar Shrine, Beardstown Council 88 R & S M, Schuyler County 708 Mental Health Board.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon at the Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville with Pastor James Shirley officiating. Burial will be in the Browning Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children.

Masonic Rites were held by Vermont Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. #116.
