Phillip Dixon

Phillip V. Dixon, 78, of Browning, died at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 1996, in the St. John’s Hospital Hospice of Springfield.

He was born April 16, 1918, in Bluff City to Earl and Blanche Osborne Dixon. He married Lenora Stambaugh on May 6, 1945 in Havana. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Phillip Lynn Dixon of Astoria; and three sisters, Mrs. Merle (Dolores) Jenkins of Lewistown, Mrs. Bernard (Priscilla) Bucher of Macomb, and Mrs. Thomas (Elizabeth) Acker of Rushville.

Mr. Dixon was a lifetime farmer, retiring in 1993. He was also a salesman for Crow’s Hybrid Corn Co. for 30 years. He served on the Schuyler County ASCS Committee in Rushville, and was a member of the Wildlife Conservation Dept. and the Ducks Unlimited.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial was in the Browning Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Browning Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
