LEONA F. (HIMMEL) STAMBAUGH

Leona Stambaugh

Leona F. Stambaugh, 86, of Rushville died at 10:55 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at Culbertson Long Term Care in Rushville.

She was born March 11, 1917, in Browning, a daughter of Frank and Augusta McFetridge Himmel. She married Floyd "Zeke" Stambaugh on Oct. 18, 1937, in Rolla, Mo. He died Sept. 18, 1995.

Surviving are one son, Teddy (and Sandy) of Rushville; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was a postal clerk at Browning Post Office for 25 years, retiring in 1987.

She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville. She was a past matron of Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of the former Rushville Business and Professional Women.

She volunteered playing the piano at Culbertson Long Term Care.

Services were held Friday at Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dr. E. Ambrose Stump officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.
