Harold K. Sales Of Peoria Dies

Harold K. Sales, 89, of 3306 W. Glen, Peoria, died at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 1991, at his home.

He was born Sept. 20, 1901, near Adair, a son of Fred and Nellie Bollinger Sales. On July 30, 1920, he married Roxanna M. Trimmer in Rushville. She preceded him in death on June 8, 1985.

Surviving are four sons, Munson Sales of Adair, Dr. Steve Sales of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Van Sales of Peoria and Roger Sales of Eureka; three daughters, Mrs. Joanna Lester of Metamora, Mrs. Barbara Bennett of Peoria and Mrs. Joyce Hazlerigg of Bartonville; 30 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Wilma Thompson of Astoria; and one brother, George Sales of Peoria.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, two sisters and one brother.

Mr. Sales was employed by Caterpillar in a Supervisory position for 35 years before retiring.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial will be in the South Fulton Cemetery south of Astoria.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and also Saturday for one hour prior to services at Shawgo’s.
