Mrs. Doris Smith Dies On Sept. 30

Mrs. Doris L. Chenoweth Smith, 75, of rural Prairie City, died at 7:19 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1986, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born Sept. 3, 1911, in Fulton County, the daughter of Elza and Cleva (Hamm) Smith. She first married John Chenoweth. He died Jan. 21, 1961. She married Tom Smith May 30, 1964.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Frances Kendrick and Mrs. Elsie Clapp, both of Vermont, and Rosa Fitzjerrells of Claremont, Calif.; and one brother, Junior Smith of Macomb.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

A waitress of Adair Cafe for 10 years, she was a member of the McDonough District Hospital Auxiliary and the Bushnell and Blandinsville bowling leagues.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Kost Memorial Home, Vermont, with Rev. Tim Gilliland officiating. Burial was in Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Macomb.
