Homer R. Smith Of Macomb Dies

Homer R. Smith, 71, of Rural Route 2, Macomb, died at 12:42 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 9, 1985, at his home.

He was born July 12, 1913, in Marietta, a son of Elza and Cleva Hamm Smith. He married Wilma (Billie) McGrew July 14, 1934, in Galesburg. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Patricia) Graham of Sycamore; three sons, Dr. Roger Smith of Charlotte, N.C., Dwight Smith of Alpine, Calif., and Roland (Butch) Smith of Macomb; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Doris Smith of Prairie City, Mrs. Frances Kendrick and Mrs. Elsie Clapp, both of Vermont, and Mrs. Rosa Fitzgerrells of Clairmont, Calif.; and one brother, Junior Smith of Macomb.

Two sisters preceded him in death.

A lifelong farmer, he was a member of the Methodist Church in Bushnell.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. Ted Snyder officiating. Burial was at Harris Cemetery in rural Table Grove.

Memorials may be made to the Macomb Heart Fund or Macomb Animal Shelter.
