Fred P. Shughart Of Macomb Dies

Fred P. Shughart, 78, of 100 W. Jefferson, Macomb, died at 6:18 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 1985, in McDonough District Hospital.

He was born Dec. 29, 1906, in Monmouth, a son of Harry E. and Susie (Downer) Shughart. He married Cathyerene Lawson April 20, 1935. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mike (Annette) Sullivan of Macomb and Mrs. William (Lynette) Hickle of Astoria; four grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Maurice (Fione) Abatte of Macomb.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Most of his life had been spent in Macomb, where he was manager of College City Bowl and University Bowling Alley until retiring. He was a member of Little York Presbyterian Church and Macomb Elks Lodge 1009.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Chapel in Macomb with Rev. Jon Eastman officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
