Earl Schuman Dies In Beardstown

Earl (Dick) Schuman, 69-year-old retired Browning township farmer, died suddenly early Monday morning, Feb. 29 at his home in Beardstown. His death followed a long period of failing health.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Cline Funeral Home in Beardstown, with Elder Lawrence Royer of the Bader Christian church officiating. Burial was in the Bader Cemetery.

Mr. Schuman was one of a family of nine children, born to Michael Schuman and Lizzie Lane Schuman, on April 5, 1890. On October 25, 1915, he was united in marriage to Miss Lottie Livingston. To this union was born two children, a daugher, Rosalee, now deceased, and a son, Roy, who is a member of the regular Army, and with his family resides in Aurora, Colorado.

Also surviving are 4 grandsons; two brothers, Elmer Schuman of St. David, and Leonard of Harvard, Nebr., and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Farr, Table Grove, Mrs. Faye Douglas, Chicago, and the Misses Minnie and Ruby Schuman of near Bader.

Earl Schuman of Beardstown, died at his home in that city Monday. He had suffered from a heart condition for several years.

Funeral services will be conducted at Kline’s Funeral Home in Beardstown on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. A complete obituary will be available for next week’s paper.

Survivors include his wife, Lottie, and a son, Sgt. Roy Schuman of the U. S. Army in Aurora, Colo. Other survivors in this area include Miss Minnie Schuman and Miss Ruby Schuman of near Bader, Mrs. Faye Douglas of Chicago, who is visiting in the Schuman home and Mrs. Melvin Farr of Table Grove, who are sisters. A brother, Leonard, lives in Nebraska.
