Elmer L. Schuman Of St. David Dies

Funeral services for Elmer L. Schuman, 82, St. David, were held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Murphy Memorial Home in Canton with Rev. Darrell Harrison officiating. Burial was in the cemetery at Bader.

Mr. Schuman died at 2:25 a.m. Friday in Graham Hospital in Canton. He was a retired farmer and had lived in St. David for the last 12 years.

Born in Browning, June 7, 1888 to Michael and Elizabeth (Lane) Schuman, he married Elsie Stambaugh in Browning in 1910. She died in November, 1934.

Surviving are two sons, Dale Schuman of Lewistown and Alfred Schuman of Canton; seven daughters, Mrs. Ileen Pickel, Mrs. Betty Clark and Mrs. Anabelle Grubb, all of Canton, Mrs. Emma Bucy of Silvis, Mrs. Genevive Clark of Lewistown, Mrs. Leona Mahoney of Dickson, and Mrs. June Clanin of Dayton, Ohio; 28 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Schuman of Harvard, Neb.; and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Farr of Table Grove, Miss Minnie Schuman of Browning, Miss Ruby Schuman of Browning, and Mrs. Faye Douglass of Oak Park.

One daughter, three sons, two brothers and one sister died earlier.
