Gale RoosaGale E. Roosa, 84, of Ipava died at 12:22 p.m. May 31, 2024, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born Jan. 28, 1940, the son of James and Mildred Parr Roosa. He married Linda Foster on June 17, 1961, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Gina (and Mike) Simpson of Lewistown, Annisa Hamm of Canton and Joel (and Kara) Roosa of Morton; one sister, Dixie (and Gene) Snyder of East Peoria; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Londa Bollinger.

He served in the United States Army from 1962-68.

He retired from International Harvester. He was also a welder, farmer and truck driver.

He was a member of the Astoria American Legion Post #25, Summum Christian Church, Fulton County American Legion and the Fulton County 40/8 Voyager 812.

Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery. Military Rites was provided by the Astoria American Legion Post #25.

Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.
