Eunice RobbinsEunice Evalena Robbins, 90, of Rushville died at 7:16 p.m. Aug. 14, 2015, in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

She was born Oct. 21, 1924, in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, a daughter of Homer and Sara Brandman Ward. She married Francis Earl Robbins on April 12, 1946, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2009.

She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Ward and Clarice Paisley; and two brothers, Eugene Ward and John “Hallie” Ward.

Surviving are three sons, Robbie (and Susie) Robbins of Oregon, Ill., Craig (and Lori) Robbins of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Kent Robbins of Rushville; three daughters, Christi (and Ted) Ashley of Dallas, Texas, Becky (and the late Dennis) Nielsen of Jarvis Bay, Alberta, Canada, and Terri (and Steve) Quillen of Rushville; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

During high school, she was a waitress at the Chanticleer Restaurant in Rushville. She worked for Roy Lunch at the Farmer’s Credit, the Schuyler County Treasurer’s office and at Mickleberrys Packing Company. In the early 1950s, she and Francis started Robbins’ Feed Store. In the late 1960s, they added Robbins’ Sign Company to their business. She worked there until her retirement in 1986.

She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. John Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery.
