Francis RobbinsFrancis E. Robbins, 85, of Rushville died at 11:05 a.m. July 22, 2009, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born July 20, 1924, in Versailles Township, Brown County, a son of Earl and Blanche Dunbar Robbins. He married Eunice Ward on April 12, 1946, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Christi (and Theodore) Ashley of Dallas, Texas, Becky (and Dennis) Nielsen of Jarvis Bay, Alberta, Canada, and Terri (and Steve) Quillen of Rushville; three sons, Robbie (and Susan) Robbins of Oregon, Craig Robbins of Sycamore and Kent Robbins of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Charles (and Dorothy) Robbins of Countryside; one sister, Nina Meservey of Timewell; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a salesman for Kent Feed and owned and operated Robbins Sign Co. with his wife, retiring in 1985.

He was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and past member and chairman of Schuyler County Board.

Services were held Sunday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. John Sowers officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery with military rites conducted.
