Emma E. Root Of Industry Dies

Emma E. Root, 67, of Industry died at 2:09 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 1990, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born Jan. 13, 1923, in Astoria, a daughter of Ernest W. and Grace Mae Dutton Hopping. She married Eldred Root on Feb. 26, 1958, in Macomb. He survives.

Also surviving are four sons, David Lee Palmer of Las Vegas, Nev., James Allen Palmer and Verle Eugene Root, both of Macomb, and Darryl Dwight Root of Reno, Nev.; two daughters, Mary Lou Schoonover of Colchester and Dianne Kay Prewitt of Macomb; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Opal Stambaugh of rural Astoria (Summum) and Melba Davis of Bardolph.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

She was a member of Astoria Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Wayne Bonser officiating. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Chapel cemetery north of Astoria.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Foundation.
