Paul J. Rhoades, Insuranceman And Broker, Dies

Paul J. Rhoades, 77, real estate and insurance agent and retired farmer of Astoria died at 3 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 1973, in Sebring, Fla.

He was born Jan. 30, 1896, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of James C. and Mary E. Crawford Rhoades. He married Orpha Benton on Aug. 20, 1913.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, J. Benton of Emerson, N. J. and Robert J. of DeKalb; two daughters, Mrs. Nelda Eikenberry of Rockford and Mrs. Marianne Pittman of Champaign; 10 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Maude Young of Roseville and Mrs. Fern Pottenger of Astoria.

A daughter, four brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Astoria Church of the Brethren where services were held on Sunday, Dec. 23, with burial in the Woodland Cemetery.
