Mrs. Fern R. Pottenger, 77, of Astoria, died at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 1975, at Schmitt Hospital in Beardstown.
She was born Feb. 22, 1898, in Woodland Township, a daughter of James and Mary Crawford Rhoades. On Aug. 29, 1924 she was married at Virginia to Floyd C. Pottenger, who survives.
Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Maud Young of Roseville.
Mrs. Pottenger managed West Grocery in Astoria for 20 years, retiring in 1963. She was a member of the Astoria American Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
