Maurice "Woody" PhillipsMaurice R. “Woody” Phillips, 85, of Rushville died at 4:03 a.m., Dec. 28, 2014, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born April 5, 1929, in Camden, a son of Fred and Lena Coker Phillips. He married Barbara Keith.

Surviving are three children, Nancee (and Steve) O’Hara and Cindy (and Rick) Shaw, both of Rushville, and Brian Phillips of Beardstown; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Brad Phillips and Richard Phillips.

He was a graduate of Rushville High School, and earned a business degree from Gem City College. He was a loan officer and branch manager for Illinois Production Credit Association in Rushville for over 36 years retiring in March 1985.

He served on Schuyler County Fair Board and was Speed Superintendent.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Rushville City Cemetery with David Haney officiating. There will be no visitation. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Rocket Booster Club or JPhil Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Rushville State Bank.
