Richard PhillipsRichard C. Phillips, 75, of Rushville died at 7:40 a.m. Feb. 4, 2007, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born July 8, 1931, in Camden Township, Schuyler County, a son of Fred and Lena V. Coker Phillips. He married Anna Lee Tomlinson on July 2, 1955, in Rushville. She died Sept. 28, 2000.

He also was preceded in death by one son, Robert; and one brother, Odis.

Surviving are one son, Michael (and Cathy); one daughter, Patricia (and Randy) Richey; one brother, Maurice “Woody”; all of Rushville; and six grandchildren.

He served in the United States Army from Jan. 27, 1953, to Jan. 10, 1955, serving overseas one year, eight months and 12 days.

He was a 1950 graduate of Rushville High School.

He was a life-long painting contractor and carpenter.

He attended Rushville Free Methodist Church and was a member of Schuyler American Legion Post #4.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Rose Ross officiating. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery with military rites being conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard and Schuyler American Legion Post #4.
