LOUISE “POODGE” (HEATON) PARR

Louise Parr

Louise “Poodge” Parr, 85, of Vermont died at 7:55 a.m. Aug. 29, 2010, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born May 10, 1925, in Ray, a daughter of Roy and Nellie Morrell Heaton. She married Rodney Parr on Dec. 15, 1945, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1980.

She also was preceded in death by one infant son, Timothy Parr; two sisters, Melba Rhodes and Nedra Andrews; and one brother, Franklin “Bud” Heaton.

Surviving are one son, Scotty (and Susie) Parr of Vermont; two brothers, Stanley “Bill” Heaton of Quincy and Jim (and Opal) Heaton of Astoria; two sisters, Marjorie Wherley of Table Grove and Wanda Brown of Macomb; and two grandchildren.

She was a custodian at VIT Schools for over 20 years.

She was a member of Vermont Christian Church and Vermont American Legion Auxiliary.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Vermont Cemetery with Dave Vandeman officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Vermont Fire and Rescue Squad.
