James Pittman

James R. Pittman, 38, of R.R. #1 Rushville, was pronounced dead at 12:30 p.m. Monday, April 21, 1997, at Frederick.

He was born Nov. 16, 1958, in Havana, a son of Arthur J. “Jack” and Pollyanna Kessler Pittman. He married Susan K. Walker Nov. 22, 1986 at the First United Methodist Church in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Jacob Pittman of Bushnell and Nathan Pittman at home; one daughter, Chelsey Pittman of Bushnell; his parents of Colchester; a grandfather, Russell Kessler of Astoria; two brothers, A. John Pittman of Adair and Jay Pittman of Holdenville, Okla.; three sisters, Pamela Willison of Ipava, Joyce Angell of Oak Park, and Stephanice Gustin of Nauvoo.

He was a driver’s trainer for DOT Foods in Mt. Sterling. He graduated from VIT High School in 1976 and attended Western Illinois University in Macomb. He was a member of the Ipava Presbyterian Church and attended the First United Methodist Church of Rushville.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Rushville with Rev. Scott Henley officiating. Burial will be in the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville.

Memorials may be given to his children’s education fund in care of the Rushville State Bank.
