She was born May 5, 1925, in Macomb, the daughter of Oral and Zula Bowen Clanin. She married John Nelson on Aug. 27, 1964. He preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Norman Hawkins.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Deidre Curley of Osage Beach, Mo., and Russ (and Maria) Hawkins of Wentzville, Mo.; and seven great-grandchildren.
She worked on factory assembly line for many years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Mo. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Lakeside Meadows Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center or Dogwood Animal Shelter.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, in the Ipava Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
