She was born March 4, 1942, in Peoria, a daughter of Robert and Maxine Leonard Immel. She married Robert N. Nelson on May 17, 1974, in Yorkville. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2010.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, Toby Curley.
Surviving are four sons, Jeff (and Susan) Nelson of Beason, Gregory (and Debby) Nelson of Montgomery, Scott (and Karen) Engel of Table Grove and Tim (and Missy) Engel of Ipava; two daughters, Suzanne (and Rex) Fouts of Ipava and Cindy (and Michael) Yazvec of Table Grove; one sister, Kathy (and Leonard) Wass of Oswega; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker. She also worked at The Honey Cone Shop in Table Grove, BRK in Aurora and McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was a member of Table Grove Community Church and the Table Grove American Legion Auxiliary.
Services were held Friday at her church with Pastor Tim Lindsay officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial was in the Harris Cemetery in Table Grove. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
