Linda MillerLinda Rhosan (nee Horwedel) Miller, 63, of Coal City died Aug. 31, 2019, at her home after a battle with cancer.

She was born May 8, 1956, in Canton, a daughter of Harold and Mary (nee Green) Horwedel. She married Ken W. Miller on Aug. 9, 1980, at Vermont Christian Church. He survives.

Also surviving are her mother, Mary Horwedel of Peoria; two children, Megan (and Matt) McIlvane of Salzburg, Austria, and Michael (and Caitlynne) Miller of Minooka; one sister, Lori (and Bruce) McCreight of Brimfield; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Horwedel; and one brother, Steven Horwedel.

She grew up in Vermont, graduating from VIT High School in 1974 and then from Robert Morris College in 1976. She worked as a Medical Assistant for 40 years in the Macomb and Joliet areas, first at the Macomb Clinic, then from 1986 until 2018 at the Joliet Medical Group, retiring after 29 years. She was an active member of Coal City United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at her church, 6805 East McArdle Rd., Coal City, IL 60416, with Reverend Bradley Schumaker officiating. Burial will follow at the Vermont Cemetery in Linda’s hometown of Vermont. Ferrari Funeral Services of Coal City is in charge of arrangements.
