He was born May 2, 1955, in Canton, a son of Harold and Helen Wheeler McCurdy. He married Rose Orwig on April 3, 1982, in Summum. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Travis McCurdy of Springfield; his parents, Harold and Helen McCurdy of Vermont; one brother, David (and Kathy) McCurdy of Vermont; and one sister, Barbara (and Dan) Kendrick of Vermont.
He was a set-up machine operator at NTN Bower in Macomb, last working in July of 2015.
He was a graduate of VIT High School.
He was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, duck hunting, fishing, and more recently attending antique auctions.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Tim Gilliland officiating. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery.
