Barbara Jean Kendrick, 64, of Vermont died at 2:40 a.m. Dec. 5, 2021, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Sept. 26, 1957, in Canton, the daughter of Harold L. and Helen L. Wheeler McCurdy. She married Danny Kendrick on Sept. 25, 1976, in Vermont. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Christopher (and Jennifer) Kendrick and Joshua (and Ashley Davis) Kendrick, both of Astoria, and Gabriel Kendrick of Vermont; one brother, David (and Kathy) McCurdy of Vermont; one sister-in-law, Rose McCurdy of Vermont; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dale McCurdy; and one grandson, Knox Davis Kendrick.
She first worked at Nielsen’s Grocery in Vermont and later was Postmaster at the Vermont Post Office. She also was a waitress at various area restaurants.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Ben Murray officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Vermont Cemetery.
Memorials in Barb’s memory may be made to the Schuyler County Humane Society or the Barb Kendrick Memorial for medical expenses.
