Willard McBrideWillard McBride, 61, of Canton died at 1:15 p.m. Aug. 4, 2013, at Graham Hospital emergency room in Canton.

He was born July 17, 1952, in Canton, a son of Howard and Violet L. Cameron McBride.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Penny Melvin; one sister, Cindy McBride; two stepsisters, Viola "Babe" Keen and Linda Melvin; and one stepbrother, Jerry Melvin.

Surviving are his fiancée, Cyndi Meyer of Canton; four brothers, Rick (and Donna) McBride of Lewistown, Terry (and Ida) McBride of Bryant, Joe (and Mary Jo) McBride of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Ron (and Steve) Melvin of Minier; three sisters, Evelyn Hines of Lewistown, Bertha (and Chuck) Sneyd of Rochelle and Pauline (and Todd) Mahan of Bushnell; eight stepsisters, Bonnie (and Adrian) Caulkins of Lewistown, Ethel (and DeWayne) Johnson of Ringgold, Ga., Nancy (and Larry) Coon of Elmwood, Shirley Taylor and Penny (and Jim) Stambaugh, both of Cuba, Marilyn (and Dale) Henderson of Urbana, Ohio, Mary (and George) O'Connell of Jacksonville and Melissa West of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; and two stepbrothers, Floyd (and Becky) Melvin of Havana and Jim (and Debbie) Melvin of Marietta.

He was a welder at Caterpillar East Peoria and Mossville plants, last working in January 2011.

He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1972-75 and then the Army Reserves.

Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with a military service by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the memorial home.
