Mildred Miller

Mildred I. Miller, 89, of Browning died at 3:50 a.m. Feb. 16, 2012, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born April 16, 1922, in Astoria, the daughter of Orley S. and Ida M. Wickert Chockley. She married Andrew E. Miller on Aug. 17, 1941, in Browning. He preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 1996.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, Dean Chockley.

Surviving are two sons, Gary (and Alice) and Gordon (and Norma) Miller, both of Browning; one daughter, Kay Miller of Beardstown; one brother, Verle (and Norma) Chockley of Newcastle, Ind.; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker, a farmer's wife and a professional cake baker.

She was a member of First Christian Church of Beardstown.

Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Mike Courson officiating. Burial was in Mud Valley Cemetery.
