FLORENCE A. (THOMPSON) MILLER

Florence Miller

Florence A. Miller, 92, of Pekin, formerly of Lewistown, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2002, at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria.

She was born Dec. 4, 1909, in Woodland Township, a daughter of William and Ilma Dell Mayall Thompson. She married Charles W. Miller on Oct. 17, 1940, in Burlington, Iowa. He died Aug. 25, 1981, in Peoria.

Two brothers also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Gordon (and Rita) of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Rodney (and Donna) of East Peoria; two daughters, Charlene (and Hugh) Cofield of Stephens City, Va., and Carolyn (and John) Pence of Frederick, Md.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ila Bricker of Lewistown and Marjorie (and Willis) Beekman of Ipava.

She attended Gem City Business College in Quincy during the 1930s.

She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary in Lewistown.

She was a former member of Lewistown Presbyterian Church and attended Free Methodist Church in East Peoria.

Services were held today at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Burial was in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
