Opal Milleson

Opal G. Milleson, 98, of Winter Garden, Fla., formerly of Astoria, died at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Quality Health Care Center in Winter Garden.

She was born April 21, 1902, in Havana, a daughter of Hart and Carrie Markley Baumgartner. She married Walter Milleson on Feb. 5, 1927, in Havana. He died Dec. 20, 1976.

She also was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

Surviving are two daughters, Sue Touchett of Lebanon, Ohio, and Barbara Roll of Clermont, Fla.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Norene Derry of Peoria, Emily (and Robert) Curless of Astoria and Wilma Weber of Cuba.

She worked as an operator for Western Union.

She was a member of Hills Lutheran Church in Clermont.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Gary Sheets officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
