Wilma Weber

Wilma E. Weber, 85, of Cuba, formerly of Lewistown, died at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Clayberg Fulton County Nursing Center in Cuba, where she was a resident.

She was born Sept. 8, 1915, in Havana, a daughter of Hart and Carrie Severns Baumgartner. She married Steve Hackett on Oct. 3, 1936, in Pontiac. He died in January 1959. She married Ernest Weber on March 6, 1966, in Lewistown. He died in September 1989.

She also was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Surviving are one son, Kirby Hackett of Farmington; one daughter, Jean (and David) Lidwell of Canton; two sisters, Norene Derry of Peoria and Emily (and Robert) Curless of Astoria; and two granddaughters.

She was a receptionist and secretary for Dr. Dohner and Dr. Wall in Rushville and for Dr. Richard Thompson in Lewistown. She also had worked at Fulton Democrat Newspaper and the Lewistown News.

She was a member of Lewistown United Methodist Church.

Graveside services were held Thursday at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton with Rev. Jon Sims officiating. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Central Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
