Oliver Malott

Oliver R. Malott, 87, of Ipava died at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at his residence.

He was born July 15, 1913, in Pleasant Township, Fulton County, a son of Elmer and Effie Weese Malott. He married Ruth Mae Pickel on Feb. 24, 1933, in Havana. She died Jan. 8, 1998.

He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Evans, four grandchildren, two sisters and one brother.

Surviving are two sons, Richard (and Barb) of Table Grove and Elmer (and Marilyn) of Bushnell; three daughters, Marilyn (and Jerry) Lemley of Bardolph, and Judy (and Leslie) Milby and Karen (and Don) Pearce, both of Macomb; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ralph Malott of Vermont.

He was a farmer all his life. He also worked for Admiral Corp. in Galesburg for 15 years and at Bushnell Farmers Elevator for five years.

He was of a nondenominational Christian faith.

Services were held Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rollie Sarver and Barry Barkley officiating. Burial was in Bardolph Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to McDonough District Hospital Hospice in Macomb.
