Ruth Malott

Ruth M. Malott, 88, of Ipava, formerly of Bardolph, died at 7:42 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born March 9, 1909, in Bernadotte Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Henry F. and Etha May Hereford Pickel. She married Oliver R. Malott on Feb. 24, 1933, in Fulton County. He survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Richard Malott of Table Grove, Elmer Malott of Bushnell and Gilbert Pickel of Texas; three daughters, Marilyn Lemley of Bardolph and Judy Milby and Karen Pearce, both of Macomb; 21 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Evans, four grandchildren, one sister and six brothers.

She operated the Stockyard Cafe in Bushnell. She then worked for McGraw-Edison in Macomb for more than 20 years, retiring in 1968.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Harry Brownlee and James Holt officiating. Burial was in Bardolph Cemetery.
