Ralph Malott

Ralph N. Malott, 96, of Vermont died at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, at Prairieview Care Center in Lewistown.

He was born Oct. 19, 1904, in Pleasant Township, Fulton County, a son of Elmer and Effie Weese Malott. He married Florine Grace Shields in 1923. She died July 22, 1972.

He also was preceded in death by two sons, Willis and Leroy, one granddaughter, two sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are four sons, Robert of Lewistown, Bernard (and Stella) of Elmwood, Gaylon (and Brianna) of Marquette Heights and Ralph Jr. (and Vickie) of Maceo, Ky.; two daughters, Nelda (and Jim) Fell of Homewood and Melba (and Joe) Harris of Channahon; 16 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He worked for International Harvester in Canton for 38 years, retiring in 1968. He also farmed in Fulton County, including the Vermont area.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Tim Gilliland officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery.
